Yardage is based on 44”-wide fabric.

* Note: If you want to dye fabric for only part of the quilt, refer to the project charts (pages 73, 74, 76, and 78) for the amount of fabric needed for each part.

COLOR RECIPES

The green center squares in the red version are dyed as described in How to Dye Fabric (page 20).

Both versions of this quilt also use a gradation. The setup for each dye bath is the same as for a nongradation, but the difference is in how the dye is measured and added to the dye bath.

NOTE

You will be making dye solutions for the gradations, and there is also a special procedure for the light blue center squares in the yellow version. Read through the instructions for making the light blue dye solution (below) and all the gradation instructions (page 79) before you set up your dye baths.
