Cool Dangly Things

HAVING MOVEMENT IN YOUR ASSEMBLAGE provides a surprise for the viewer and adds interest to your artwork. The movement can be subtle, such as a piece that dangles from the ceiling. You can also include movement that provides an opportunity for the viewer to interact with pieces in your assemblage. Many of the rooms in our dollhouse project include pieces that move, such as dangly chandeliers and swinging trapeze artists. Other items that naturally lend themselves to movement and dangling include those that naturally “hang” in the sky, such as stars, clouds, the sun, or the moon; objects that fly, such as birds, butterflies, and other winged creatures; and objects that hang, such as swings and wind chimes.
