Chapter 4: Weapons Against Self-sabotaging

Now we have a firm understanding of what causes us to self-sabotage, of how our brains work to reinforce these kinds of behaviors, and of how we can work to change those behaviors. Thus, it’s time to move on to finding new, more positive ways of thinking that can replace your discarded negative ways of thinking. These are the brain hacks you will need to start steering your life in the direction you want. These brain hacks can be used as weapons against self-sabotaging thinking and should be read in relation to chapter 2, where we outlined some of the common self-sabotaging thoughts that we can fall victim to. While they do not directly relate to the sabotaging thoughts discussed, they will go a long way to combat the thinking involved in creating the foundation for those negative thought patterns. There are many more ways in which you can change your thinking and behavior positively. However, listing and discussing them all will take too much of our time together. I have selected a few to discuss here in this chapter, but don’t let your research and understanding stop here. Go on to do future research and uncover more weapons against self-sabotage, as this will only help you further your journey to success.
