This guy has an insatiable appetite for life. For him, life is one big smorgasbord, and he wants to make certain he doesn't miss out on a single treat. He is grabby, hungry, and horny.

The Kid in a Candy Store's cravings are not limited to new sexual opportunities. This guy lusts after all kinds of new experiences. Like a child, he is drawn to all things shiny and new. It could be a car, a watch, a suit, or a trip to Las Vegas. He always has an itch to scratch, and his reasoning is clouded by desire.

On the plus side, he possesses a great joie de vivre and is full of passion and spontaneity. But to his detriment, no matter if his age is thirty, forty-five, or sixty, his emotional age might be closer to that of a seven-year-old who ceaselessly demands attention and the excitement of acquiring new people or things.

The Kid in a Candy Store is as easy to recognize as any other little boy. He's the one making a spectacle of himself. Often a slave to trends or a willing victim of advertising in men's magazines, he has the latest high-tech gadgets and designer duds. Whatever the newest, latest thing is, he's simply got to have it!

While most of these guys are always in pursuit of a variety of new objects or experiences, one more narrowly defined type is only after one thing—sexual variety.

This sub-type, which I call Slick Willy, usually reveals his intentions on the first date. He's the guy with the sexual innuendoes, the wandering hands, or the creep who slips you the tongue on your first kiss.

In short, Slick Willy is lecherous, and no matter how romantic or charming he seems, he has only one thing in mind: getting laid. Unless you're as sexually compulsive as Samantha from Sex in the City, Slick is not for you.

But as noted, the typical Kid in a Candy Store man is motivated by more than mere sex. For these guys, sameness is a kind of slow death. Unlike Slick Willy, he's not only fantasizing about some woman's breasts or behind, he's imagining how neat it might be to date a different kind of woman, say a flight attendant or an Asian woman, or how adventurous life might be if he dated a ballerina who travels through Europe.
