Getting to Know the Subject

Antonia Nieves’ daughter, Olga, brought her to the college portrait photography class to be photographed. Mrs. Nieves was born on December 14, 1946 in Mexico. She is sixty-eight years old and has been married to Flavio Nieves for forty-seven years. She has seven children and twenty-one grandchildren. She has been a homemaker her entire life, and her daughter, Olga, expressed to me that she is the most wonderful mother anyone could ask for. She just had a look that inspired me. I couldn’t put my camera down. She was so nice and patient. I selected this image to share here, as I caught her off guard. It seems as if she was in deep thought.
