5. Now, apply your foundation, being sure to stipple the foundation over your scar. Do not wipe it on—you don’t want to remove the concealer-powder blend.
6. Finish by lightly powdering, to set your makeup and help it last all day.
For acne scars, which create texture variation in your skin, the best way to make the skin look perfectly flawless is to keep it as matte as possible. Loose powder is your best friend, because it will do just that. You want to be sure to keep the oil and shine away all day, so blot often, and use loose powder to matte the skin.
Keep the finish of the color products you choose in mind, as well. Avoid using products that add shimmer to your skin. For example, if you use bronzer (which I believe you should, always), it needs to be matte, with no sparkle or shimmer at all. The same is true for your blush; use a matte shade, not one with shimmer. The sparkle or shimmer in these products makes the skin look shiny, which will accentuate your textural flaws. The more matte the skin, the more flawless it will appear.
Finally, resist the temptation to fill in the “valleys” by applying too much foundation and concealer. Trying to cover up the textural flaws with thick, heavy layers of concealer and foundation just makes your skin look old and caked. A nice, smooth matte layer will make you look fresher, and will make your skin appear flawless.
