Which Program For Which List?
* * *
LET’S GET INTO the big question: what do you send people once they’ve joined your list?
I hope that by now you can see that there is a clear distinction between what’s suitable for a back-end list and a front-end list. You should absolutely not send them the same stuff, at least initially.
When someone joins your back-end list through a sign-up at the end of a book, they will want to hear what you specifically promised them. New releases, or a chatty newsletter, whatever it was you told them you’d send them.
But what about the front-end list?
These people may just have downloaded one free book, but not read it, by the time you send them your first email. Those people are not fans of yours, but they can be turned into fans.
You have a number of different options:
You can send these people through an automation sequence that introduces them to you and your books, and then import them into your regular list.
You can keep these people separate and develop a completely separate email strategy for them involving your books.
They came to your list because they signed up for a competition, so you can send them more competitions, cross-promotions and group sales.
