Character Equalisation

The goal of character equalisation is to provide further clarity and uniqueness to individual elements in the mix. So now it’s time for a bit of fun. The snag here is that it’s also the point where you can screw up your mix by over-emphasising certain frequency ranges: I suggest you go easy with your EQ boosts and use the subtle approach. Importantly, character EQing works best on tracks rather than groups. My approach is to select tracks that I feel need a bit more mojo or simply need more definition in the mix.
