7 Linguistic Issues in Biblical Greek

The use of linguistics for the study of biblical Greek has moved in fits and spurts over the past few decades, with progress in our understanding of biblical Greek moving in a similar manner. Today, we are faced with many of the same problems biblical scholars addressed a century ago, and we also encounter new ideas and challenges as the field of linguistics has developed over the past several decades. In this chapter, we examine some of the most important developments and issues currently facing linguists and biblical scholars working with biblical Greek.
