Chapter 14

As they stood there wrapped in each other’s arms, Erin felt the steel of his hard body pressing against her. She knew exactly where that strength belonged. Taking his hand she led him into the house and directly into her bedroom. Letting go of his hand, she reached for his belt as he grabbed her arms, saying, “Are you sure?”

The only sounds heard were the sounds of clothing hitting the floor and Erin saying, “Yes.”

When nude herself she reached for Mark, grabbing his arms drawing him toward her as she fell on her bed pulling him over her. Even if she had wanted to stop their uniting, she lacked the ability to squash the desire consuming her. Never had she experienced being so out of control yet so goal oriented.

Mark’s powerful, yet gentle thrusts, were exactly what Erin wanted, and needed, as they consumed each other. Satisfied to the core of her being Erin sighed as she laid on the sheets, damp from their perspiration. Moving her fingers through the equally damp hairs on Mark’s chest, with her head rested on his chest, with his arm wrapped around her. The beating of his heart rang in her ears. Neither spoke as each held tightly to the other.

It was Erin who broke the silence. “I didn’t know this was possible. I have never felt anything like this before.”

“Me too,” was Mark’s only response.

The level of exhaustion and depth of satisfaction brought sleep as they continued to hold each other. Mark’s body, trained to wake at five am, sleep or no sleep, started stirring. The stirring woke Erin. It took her a couple seconds to figure out where she was before the memory of their encounter came rushing back. What in hell have I done!? The memory of her actions piled one on another, as she laid looking at his face. Mom was right again. This time I’m so grateful. Their gazes locked as they moved together, preparing to consume the other again when the phone rang.

Erin squirmed out of Mark’s arms and answered her phone. “Jim?” There was a chuckle that even Mark must have heard judging from his raised eyebrow.

“Who did you think would be calling you at the crack of dawn? I wanted to let you know Lil will be fine. Not all the tests are complete yet, but she is out of the woods. Noah is taking over, and he will keep you informed after I leave.”

“Jim. Thank you! Are you on tomorrow night too?”

“No, I’m done nights for a while, looking forward to the three days off. Lil will be here when I get back onto days. We’ll talk then.” The phone went dead when he hung up, and Erin crawled back into Mark’s waiting arms.

They woke the second time around eight.

This time, she led him to the shower. Each covered the other’s body with kisses, then soap, as the hot water rained over them. It wasn’t until Erin started drying Mark’s back that she realized he was wearing a very life like prothesis.
