Me-too model

Most people know intuitively what behaviour works well, what manners need working on before they become severe, and what has to be avoided at all costs. To be a respected member of their environment, they understand that they have to live up to the hygiene standards. With regard to organisations this is more difficult, for example a market entry, the start-up phase, building structures, portfolio decisions and presentations. But usually this works out fine for those who act within the me-too model.

The me-too section has a lot of pushing and shoving due to the fact that this is where you get the strongest competition. The highest pressure comes from the top where new standards for value are continuously negotiated. Above the heads of those in the me-too section, a storm of innovation takes place and threatens to put them in the sub-zero zone of irrelevance.

The existence pressure is high in me-too. The motivation patterns often are extrinsic. People see themselves confronted with unpleasant social interactions: repression, manipulation, intimidation or persuasion. The corresponding management methods are not so much defined by followership but carelessly hidden in the demand of obedience. The typical employee of the day in a fast food restaurant stands in the pillory of ridiculousness because of the attributed great conviction and enthusiasm.
