WORKING THE TWIST STITCH

“The red sections of this garment are mostly knitted using a simple twist stitch, which is a 3-stitch repeat pattern. The twist stitch is based on the same principle as any cable stitch, however, as the twists are so small—with only two stitches to each twist—this technique can be executed without the use of a cable needle.”

STEP 1 The first stitch in the 3-stitch repeat pattern is knitted as usual, while the next 2 stitches are twisted. For “twist 2,” ignore the first stitch on the left-hand needle and insert the right-hand needle up into the second stitch on the left needle.
