“MASTER, I HAVE ACQUIRED the target that you asked me to. I will be reporting back to the headquarters as soon as I can be there,” Astrid reported as she was looking at the black screen. She knew that His Holiness was listening as she closed the connection between the Order and her.

She turned to look at the target that she had carried back home to Romania. But of course, Aaron Covaci proved to be a challenge when she could barely carry him across the alley to the hidden car that she stashed. She sighed as she was walking toward Aaron.

“You are heavy much more than you look,” she said as she was circling Aaron. She knew that she had to be careful with Pure Blood. They were much more powerful than Blue Blood as Pure Blood was rare these days since the Order had been killing them since their first appearance in Lacul Rosu.

Astrid sighed before she opened the car and broke the bones of her back as it cracked against the silence. She knew that Aaron was watching and she was pretty sure that he was ready to make some jokes about her backbones.

“You shouldn’t have done that, Astrid. If I know that you’re one of them, it doesn’t matter since I have gotten to know you better,” his voice echoed across the alley as Astrid was looking around. She held tighter to her weapons as she heard some footsteps behind her. She turned around to see it but there was no one.

“And why should I not be hunting you, Vampire? You are an abomination to this world and it is my duty, as Huntress, to capture you and end your pathetic life!” she said to the empty alley. Then, she heard him chuckle softly.

“And what will happen when you kill me? What then, Miss Larsen?” he whispered huskily, making her stomach flutter but she had to remain strong. She’s the Huntress of the Order for goodness sake. And she would not let this... abomination be taking that privilege from her, not when Astrid has any say in it.

“Come out and fight me like a man,” she shouted as she was looking around the alley. She
