Fisherman’s Knot

This knot is used to quickly tie two ropes of same diameter together.When the knot is tied it weakens the ropes and should not be trusted in critical applications, particularly when a slippery synthetic rope is used.

How to Tie

Use the working end of one rope tie a loose overhand knot around the other rope.

Repeat the process by using the working end of the second rope around the first rope and tighten the two knots.

Pull the standing parts of the two ropes in opposite directions to seat both knots together.
