ROLLED EDGE

With Garnet, cir needle, and RS facing, pick-knit 11 [12, 13] sts along each triangle—99 [108, 117] sts total. Join for working in rnds. Knit 17 rnds. Loosely BO all sts, allowing edging to roll to RS.

Dotted Tea Cozy

This striking tea cozy follows the same principle as the three-block cap on page 64 (three blocks consisting of nine squares each), but more squares are worked around the circumference of the initial three-block pouch to add overall length. Triangles fill in the gaps between the final row of squares. The last few rows of each block are worked in a bright color to add lively dots to the purple base. The base is finished off with a simple rolled edge and the interior is lined with cotton fabric for added insulation. If a tea cozy isn’t for you, turn the piece upside down, add a handle, replace the top loop with a tassel, and voilà–you’ve got a little purse instead!
