Changing Colors
Working with color is fun, and you shouldn’t let it intimidate you. When you need to use another color simply pick it up and begin to work with it. Catch the old color under the yarn of the first stitch to secure it and prevent holes in your work. Knit a few stitches and then go back and snug up the yarn to secure the color change.
If you are changing colors at the end of a row and plan on using the color again very soon you can carry it up the side of your work. Let it hang on the side of the fabric and catch it under the yarn of the first stitch of a new row until you need it again up to about four rows. This secures it and you don’t have as many tails to weave in.
