When Ray arrived home, his phone rang. It was Sonya. Out of curiosity, she went back to Ray’s mother’s home to see what else was going on. The trucks were all loaded up and driving away. She decided to follow the trucks to see where they were going. Perhaps the trucks were going to a local charity or their contents to be loaded onto a train back to New York to be used by the Bethelites.
The answer to her curiosity soon made her feel sick to her stomach. The first truck made a left turn. The other two trucks followed its lead. Much to her horror, the trucks headed to the city landfill. At a distance, she saw the workers unload the trucks and throw everything into the landfill. At this point, she finally realized she was serving a man-made organization – not God. If there was a God, no loving God would do this.
Sonya called Ray and told him what she had just seen. Without saying a word, he hung up the phone. She completely understood.

Carlo decided to move out of the apartment. There were some things that needed to be sorted out in his life and he needed some time alone to think about what was going on. He wanted a little bit of breathing room before he made a final decision. At a distance, Sandra and her dad sat in the car watching Carlo load up a truck. She gathered the courage to go to speak to him.
She walked inside the apartment and looked around. Only the things she brought into the marriage was all the remained. They spoke for only a few moments and Carlo walked out the door. Nothing of any significance was really said, only a “see you later.”
Carlo walked out the door with the last of his belongings.

Sonya and Ray met again at the tourist’s location they previously discussed. For a moment, they discussed what became of his mother’s home. Ray mentioned that he could not drive to that town and see his mother’s house. It was too painful. Ray changed the subject and brought out some old Watchtower publications.
Ray showed Sonya the results of his research from the Watchtower’s own literature. At first, Sonya did not believe him and said the results of what he found were written by a bunch of apostates. [33] On a note pad, Ray wrote down all the documentation down so she could go to her own Theocratic library and look it up herself. She said she would.
