4 Plans for Sharing the Real Jesus with Jehovah’s Witnesses

Because of the strictness found within the Jehovah’s Witnesses cult, sharing the true Gospel of the true Jesus Christ will need to be planned out. This plan may include a “befriending process” that may incorporate having to spend time with Jehovah’s Witnesses. This may be a tactful way of allowing them to get to know you and your family while you too attempt to get to know why they may be so tightly glued to their society’s way of thinking. Of course, prayer will definitely be required if you hope to find an opening that the true God – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – may already have prepared long before your arrival. Being ready and available to respond to questions they may have will also be needed. Scripture memorization and proper passage exegesis may also be required of you if you truly expect any sort of response towards the way they feel about the Watch Tower Tract and Bible Society or a change in attitude in which they view their New World Translation of the Holy Scripture bible.

Of course, as with any outreach endeavor, you will most likely have to patiently wait for the ideal time and place in which to share the true Gospel. Bowman, for example, illustrates how we can “tactfully show the Witnesses that the Watchtower has lied to them. Since Jehovah’s Witnesses have put their faith in the Watchtower organization and do not respect the doctrinal opinions of non-Witnesses, sometimes a frontal assault on the organization’s integrity is the best approach” (Bowman 1995, 73). This strategic maneuver to having the Jehovah’s Witnesses listen, though, is not without risk. Only through an earnest and sincere mannerism will the credibility of the outreach person be respected.

Finally, when all other outreach efforts fail, one might consider joining a conversation about God. This idea will probably only work when the Jehovah’s Witness member initiates the discussion. This will allow you to “ask for help and rephrase arguments to present the same evidence in the form of questions. Working with the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ brainwashing instead of struggling against it could be compared to the difference between swimming downstream and swimming upstream” (Reed 1996, 12) .
