Crosshatching

This is like the one above except you are going back over your original lines with ones that cross over the first.

Stumping

This is where you first lightly use your pencils to shade and then go back over them with your blending stumps to make them softer and blend together. We will be using this technique in the lessons in this guide.

Stippling

This is the practice of shading by making pencil-point marks on your pieces. By making tiny dot marks and overlapping them, you can get the effect you see above. This is a great technique when adding whiskers or stubble.
