The rate of deacidification of the stomach depends on the amount of alkaline water and its pH. The more alkaline water (with a higher pH value) you drink, the quicker the stomach deacidifies and the more hydrochloric acid is secreted to neutralize alkaline water. It may seem that during these processes the effect of alkaline water is minimal.

However all doubts are stilled after analyzing how hydrochloric acid is secreted.
