Corolla

It consists of four or five petals which are polypetalous with imbricate aestivation. In Eucalyptus, the petals are united completely forming a cap like structure which is shed when the flowers open.

Androecium

In majority of taxa, it consists of numerous stamens arranged in whorls on the edge of the receptacle and are either free in Eucalyptus or monoadelphous as in Callistemon. In Melaleuca, there are only five stamens placed opposite the petals. In Tristania, numerous stamens are present in five bundles opposite the petals. In Calothamnus, the anthers are basifixed, usually they are 2-celled and dorsifixed. The connectives of the anthers are provided with gland. The filaments are long exserted and often coloured. These filaments remain crumpled in the bud.
