4. Slip the resulting stitch back to the left needle without twisting it.

5. Insert the right needle purlwise (without twisting) into the second stitch on the left needle.

6. Lift this stitch over the k2tog and off the needle (left). Slip the resulting stitch to the right needle purlwise (right).

Paired Double Decreases

Sp2p and P2sp

These decreases will look like the Sk2p and K2sp when worked on wrong-side (purl) rows and viewed on the right (knit) side. Sp2p (slip one, purl two together, pass slipped stitch over the p2tog) will mimic the k2sp and lean to the right. P2sp (purl two together, slip one, pass the slipped stitch over the p2tog) will mimic the sk2p and lean to the left. Use these if you want to decrease exclusively on the purl side, or in combination with the knit versions if you want to decrease on both sides, as in every third row.
