Focus on Programs That Interest You Most

Experts advise students applying to schools to choose six or seven. Applying to more than that is usually a waste of time and money. The same goes for students interested in training programs or schools for training.

Applying to more than six or seven schools wastes time because getting all the pieces, such as letters of recommendation, the application, the essay, and your transcripts ready can take several weeks even if you’re quick. In addition, some schools and training programs charge an application fee. That can add up if you apply to twenty programs. Talk to your high school counselor about training programs or local schools you are interested in attending. A counselor can help you narrow down your choices or help you find more information.
