One of the worst things you can do is compare yourself with other people– that’s one way the archons can really get you! It’s very easy to do, but it’s almost always a bad idea; you’re the one your self-image impacts, so what do those people matter?
One of the most obvious and pernicious examples is body image. The damnable archons of Popular Culture will always parade the latest idiocy that they’d like to see you emulate. Currently, it’s too-skinny, but consider that this may actually be an improvement over the days of wasp-waists and children’s girdles:
