“Looks like your foot is feeling better,” Tegan said. “Or are you just in a good mood after yesterday’s sex-capades?”

Coffee sprayed out of Parker’s mouth. She spluttered, choking a little bit, and Tegan patted her back. It gave her a minute to swallow, to think. Tegan was talking about the shoot, she realized. The shoot that went really well with Booth and Lana. Not what happened afterward in Booth’s trailer.

“Yeah, I feel like we had a breakthrough with him, you know?” Parker said at last. But she didn’t meet Tegan’s eyes. Tegan was too perceptive for her own good.

“Let’s hope so,” she said. “We’ve got more Lana scenes on the docket. Post-coital scene is first up! Start the day off right.”

Parker knew Tegan was joking, that there was no way she could know what had happened, but there was no helping the blush that crept across her cheeks at Tegan’s words. She just hoped it wasn’t too obvious.

It was silly, really. The scene involved Patty drugging Sam so she could murder her husband and frame her lover. Not so sexy when it came down to it.

Booth and Lana arrived to set from hair and makeup in their robes, though, and Parker had to reassess her conclusion. The sight of Booth in his robe, the memory it sparked, made her palms sweat and her heart rate accelerate.

It was a strange dissociative feeling, watching Booth perform. Parker’s body was alive with the memory of his touch and just the sight of him made her weak with longing—but her mind occupied a completely separate space. Her mind processed that his accent slipped, that his lines felt forced, that his movements were too rehearsed. When he downed the drugged drink Lana gave him, his facial expressions as he transitioned into unconsciousness were cartoonish. But through it all, Parker still wanted him. Badly. It was truly bizarre.

They did so many takes, Parker lost count.

Parker’s phone buzzed.

Parker. Please. Put me out of my misery
