Granny Square with a Magic Circle

Materials:

J needles

Yarn in six colors

Tapestry needle or scissors

Directions:

Make the magic circle by doing a triple crochet, chaining it, and then doing that around.

Fr the next one, do a single crochet into a triple crochet stitch and then chain 3, do 3 triple crochet cluster into 2 chain space, and continue in that pattern around.

Then, do a slip stitch into each stitch around.

Do 3 double crochets into the back loops of a single crochet starting from round 2. Chain 1, skip 3 stitches, and then do a single crochet into the back loops of a middle triple crochet from round 2, chain 1. Then continue that all the way around.

Next, do 1 double crochet and chain one space, do a double crochet into the next 3 stitches, and then 1 double crochet into the next chain 1 space. Chain 2 and continue around.

For the next round, do 3 triple crochets, chain three, and then do 3 triple crochets first. Continue that around, and then chain space, then 1 single crochet stitch. Proceed with five stitches into the next chain 2 space and continue that around.

Do 2 stitches, chain 4, then 2 single crochets all the way around. Slip stitch each across one side, and then repeat this all the way around.

Do a stitch into the right side of the corner point, chain five, skip over to the left of the corner point and continue with single crochet stitches across the whole side and do that around.

Then, use a slip stitch into a half double crochet before each corner, slip stitching until you get a triple crochet stitch. You then continue to work with a slip stitch around the triple crochet and then continue around.

Finish off with a tapestry needle or scissors if desired.
