Writing to Inform
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW IF I WRITE TO INFORM?
You will include facts and opinions in your information (some people think).
You will select the tone to suit your form, purpose and audience.
When you write to inform, you may use present tense - 1st or 3rd person.
You could use some of the following techniques:
Engage your reader with a good introduction
Make a different point clearly in each paragraph
Add plenty of detail
Speak to your reader directly
Link the conclusion to the opening paragraph
Include lists of statistics, humour, anecdotes and a personal response
Use headings and sub headings
