“What the fuck?” Finn shouts down the line.

“I hired her to make sure people don’t get hurt and you are what? Fucking her?” How does he know about us sleeping with her? “Sean called me; he seemed concerned for Ivory.” He answers my unasked question.

“Things just happened; she consented to it. It’s not like we forced her. We are together,” I tell him.

“What? You and she are a thing?” He goes quiet for a moment.

“Well, we are all a thing, me and the rest of the guys.” I look at her, and she is sitting up with a worried look.

“Fuck, Slate; you are supposed to be the responsible one. She is human. Have you seen the papers? They all want to know who she is, what she means to you all. This could put her in harm’s way, your enemies using her to get to you.”

“She can’t get hurt remember?”

“By supernatural beings. If a human stabs her, shoots her, slits her throat, you name it, she can die. You know there are people out there that would kill anyone and anything for the right price.” I look at her, images of those things happening to her makes me feel sick.

“We aren’t letting her go.” She jumps back in surprise. “Until the tour is over,” I quickly add.

“Why until the tour is over?”

Because that’s when she will leave. “It’s what we agreed on. It’s less than two months, then things go back to the way they were.”

“Right, okay fine, but you need to keep her safe. That girl doesn’t deserve to get hurt because you all thought with your dicks,” he warns me. “Wait, I have another caller, hold on.” He puts me on hold.

“He angry?” Caspian asks me.

“Yup, but he’s accepted it,” I tell him.

“I swear I’m going to kick your asses,” Finn complains when he gets back on line. “The studio wants this girl to do a music video with you. They want the fans to guess which one of you she is with. Sales are up, and it’s all over social media.”

“You want her to act in our next music video?” Ivory goes pale. “Finn, that’s months away.”

“Not anymore. They want you to get back on the bus now; you are doing the video in the next town. Tell Ivory that it’s in her contract; they made sure there was a loophole, the bastards. Tell her I’m sorry.” He hangs up.

“I can’t be in a music video,” Ivory says, standing up. “I’m not that good. You need a professional.” She starts playing with the hem of her top.

“Apparently, when you signed the contract, you agreed to do what was best for the band, so you have to. It will be real easy, and we will be there holding your hand every second.

“I can’t believe this is happening. I have only been here for a few days, now I’m all over the papers. Oh crap, what if my mom and dad have read it?” She falls back on the couch, her towel opening.
