Before his brother could say anything else, Hector began to play. The wumblepups clapped their hands and leaped and sang. Lulu climbed a pile of dirt and danced on the top. Hector played more. He played every song he knew and then he started over again.

And the music and noise traveled into the hill, following the pebble through the tunnels and waking the sleeping creatures huddled in their caves.

One of them looked up and frowned with hunger. He was a large and carnivorous bug, and he was not far away.
