Universal Studios has stood the test of time. From its not so humble beginnings, through the war years, the lean times and devastating fires, this heart and soul of Hollywood has come out on top time and time again. Now, in the twenty-first century, Universal is poised to become one of, if not the premier amusement venue in the world. With two parks in Florida combined into one resort, another park in Japan and one in Singapore, Universal has started its takeover of the world amusement stage. Plans are already in the works for parks in Beijing and Moscow, and if they are successful, who knows where else they may build. One thing, however, must always be remembered. Universal Studios Hollywood is still the original, still the only one of its properties where guests can board the Glamour Tram and see actual, working movie sets both new and old. It is also the only amusement park where guests can see their favorite movie stars just being themselves while at work. Universal Studios is still in an amusement class of its own and hopefully will remain as such for a very long time.
