Speak softly and kindly

"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." Proverbs 15:1. "Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest." Ecclesiastes 9:9. "When I became a man, I put away childish things." 1 Corinthians 13:11.

The Bible also asks you to keep a soft and kind verbal relationship with your spouse. Force yourself to make this a habit. Decisions that are made in anger are the worst possible ones and they are also the most regretted ones. Speak with love and calmness. Your spouse is bound to lose their desire to please you if you continue to treat them with anger and harsh words.
