2. Use your hands to roll the clay or use an extruder with a round disk to create ropes of each color about 8 millimeters thick, with each rope measuring at least 5 inches (12.7 cm) long.

3. Starting with your blush rope, create a small arch.

• TIP: You can use a narrow oval cutter or any object of similar shape to wrap the clay over and create a clean, uniform rainbow shape.

4. Wrap your camel rope over the blush, followed by your terra-cotta rope, gently applying pressure so they stick together.
