Aromatherapy purports to use plant oil extracts to address skin challenges as well as for circulatory, respiratory, and emotional problems. Different oils are used for different purposes. Oils are blended based on combining characteristics of different oils.

We'll note some typical uses of different oils, but we are not an aromatherapy expert, or any other kind of expert!

The several methods of oil extraction produce different final products. The most common extraction method is steam distillation. Plant material is placed on a grate above boiling water. The steam passing through the plant material ruptures the cell walls releasing the plant oils. Then the steam passes through a cleanser where it changes into liquid form. The liquid is then separated into the essential oil and plant water, called hydrosol.
