Mix a few scoops of fresh worm castings (dried if you donât currently practice vermicomposting) into your bag and water in well with rainwater, or water thatâs been sitting out for at least twenty-four hours to off-gas chlorine, which would kill much of the soil life youâre trying to cultivate.
Let this newly refreshed grow bag mix sit, keeping it watered well, for about two weeks. This waiting period gives the microbial life within the bag time to start breaking down organic matter. Feel free to plant at any time after this point.
