Genesis Chapter 4
What is a Man's Responsibility to His Wife?
What was the relation between Adam and Eve in light of what The Torah Shares with us. For many years their relationship was greatly strained. They lived apart for 130 years after the death of Abel .
Dear Ones, Chapter Four begins with, And the man knew [sexually experienced] everything from the Letter Aleph to Tav of Chavah / Eve, his wife … This means they experienced everything sexual. I'm not saying they experienced 'every sexual pleasure'. It seems they may have gone beyond sexual pleasure. They may have experienced things which were not sexual pleasures. I don't know!
Genesis 4.1
Genesis 4.1
And the man knew [physically experienced] everything from the Letter Aleph to Tav of Chavah / Eve, his wife and she became pregnant and birthed everything from Aleph to Tav of Cain… and she said, from everything from Aleph to Tav of the Lord I have Possessed / Acquired a man .
The Word עדי / Yaw Dah means to know or to learn. Yaw Dah is followed by the Word תא / Eht meaning 'everything from the first Letter of the Aleph Bet, the Letter Aleph to the last Letter of the Aleph Bet, the Letter Tav. The Torah Says Adam knew… and Adam sexually experienced everything from Aleph to Tav of Eve. The Torah does not Say what Eve knew or what Eve sexually experienced.
It is most important to inquire why The Torah Defines Eve as 'his wife'. Who else could be his wife? Why does The Torah Express that Eve was 'his wife'? Why does The Torah Say he knew, he experienced sexual pleasure? Was this all about Adam? What about Eve?
Then Eve's Statement after giving birth is unique. Eve Says, I acquired a man through the Lord. I translate this as the Lord acquired a man for me. There are sexual overtones to the name Cain. The meaning of name ןיק Cain is big testicles or spear. Yet we know the name of Cain is most likely a derivative of Eve's comment יתינק Kaw Nee Tee, as in the Lord acquired a man for me. The shoresh / root Word for יתינק Kaw Nee Tee is הנק Kaw Nawh meaning acquire or possess. When one acquires something it is their possession. How did Adam possess Eve?
Dear ones, Cain was born in the Garden of Eden. Cain was born before the sixth day concluded. Cain was born before Adam and Eve / His Father and Mother were removed from the Garden of Eden. Remember Chapter three's discussion pointed to the man being removed from Garden of Eden and not the woman.
The Torah Says, the Lord God Sent him out… Genesis 3.23. The Torah Says, He banished the man [from Garden of Eden]… Genesis 3.24. In the last lesson I asked why Eve left the Garden of Eden. In this lesson I ask why did Cain leave the Garden of Eden? Cain was conceived through the sexual acts of his father.
