For this technique, thick, heavy body paint is rolled over thin, more watery paint. The first layer (thin paint) must have areas with no paint. A second layer is quickly rolled over the first and is repelled by the thin wet paint underneath, adhering only to the bare areas on the Gelli plate. This is an unpredictable process that can result in beautiful paint interactions. You’re rolling wet paint over wet paint, so prepare to work fast!
