I think any table in the woods will be one that is inspired—whether it is draped with a tartan throw for an informal picnic or covered with elegant florals for a fancy wedding celebration. But when it comes to just a small bit of decadence and refined elegance, those dainty details are perfection—like mix and match gilded glasses and delicate lace plates.

The stemware is mixed—vintage etched-crystal goblets that are some of my favorites are well paired with little gilded coupes. I am not a stickler for certain sizes and styles of glasses being used for exact purposes, and you will often find my tables with “like” goblets and flatware rather than exactly the same at each setting. The coupes are nice for sipping something delicious, as well as for serving a bit of caramel-drizzled ice cream or cobbler to be eaten with a dainty spoon.

Creamy velvet napkins add the perfect touch of luxe, and gathered seasonal fruit creates a charming centerpiece.

The flowers for this table were inspired by the rustic setting and the silver trophy vessel. Though I love pink peonies and ranunculus, when it comes to roses, my choice is almost always white and barely blushing shades. I love that rosy whites can be dressed up or down and can be equally beautiful either way. These are $6 everyday white roses from the market, mixed with very pale blush garden roses from a local farmer. A few sprigs of eucalyptus and various seasonal greens are mixed with grasses and rich red leaves for a bit of drama, with the fun addition of golden yellow billy buttons, genus Craspedia. Sometimes just a touch of that golden color is all it takes to warm up an arrangement and give it an autumnal feeling.

In the background view, the barn is dotted with pumpkins on the porch and path, while a crystal-laden chandelier twinkles away inside, inviting guests to wander down the path to the long table in the barn for prolonged conversations.
