139 . The advantages derived from the use of comb foundation are three-fold. In the first place, as we have said before, beeswax costs the bees a probable average of ten pounds of honey per pound of comb. Beeswax when rendered has an approximate value of from twenty-five to thirty-five cents per pound. The same article made into comb foundation costs at retail from fifty to seventy-five cents per pound. Counting our honey at only twelve cents, there is almost a doubling of the investment by buying comb foundation and saving the bees all this labor.
