ROOF The roof has one of the greatest impacts on a structure’s chances of survival. Use Class A roofs only. Exercise extreme caution when contemplating wood-shake roofs with fire-retardant chemicals. Chemical retardants are relatively short-lived and can lose their effectiveness within five years.
