4 cups (1 quart) water, or as needed
1 cup tomato paste
8 tablespoons chili powder
4 tablespoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons ground coriander
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon dried oregano
Salt to taste
6 cups (1½ quarts) canned chili beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup finely chopped mild green chilies
