Pour first color and move fabric around.
Add second color.

2. Let the fabric sit in the dye for 2 hours or more before washing (see Rinsing and Washing Dyed Fabric, page 13).
MORE-THAN-TWO-COLOR DYEING
There is also more than one approach to dyeing more than two colors.
1A. Pour a little dye into the bottom of the container. Push part of the fabric into the container. Pour the second color of dye on top of the fabric. Use enough dye to saturate part of the fabric, but not so much that either color completely covers the fabric that is in the container. Push some more of the fabric into the container, and pour on a third color of dye. You can repeat this process for as much fabric as you have, adding as many colors as you like. At this point you can either leave the fabric alone or move it around a bit to get the colors to mix. With this approach, the colors will stay most distinct if you don’t touch or move the fabric around. The more you move the fabric, the more the colors will blend.
