Completing the Runner

Refer to the Assembly Diagram as needed for construction.

1. Sew an E-F-G unit to opposite sides of the Center Star block and add an End Star block to each end to complete the runner center; press.

2. Sew the H/I strips together on the short ends to make one long strip; press. Subcut strip into two each 1½" × 44½" H and 1½" × 14½" I strips.

3. Sew the H strips to the long sides of the runner center and the I strips to the short ends; press.

4. Sew the J/K strips together on the short ends to make one long strip; press. Subcut strip into two each 2½" × 46½" J and 2½" × 18½" K strips.

5. Sew the J strips to the long sides of the runner center and the K strips to the short ends to complete the top; press.

6. Create a quilt sandwich referring to Quilting Basics.

7. Quilt as desired. The sample runner was machine-quilted with a wavy design.

8. Join the binding strips and bind the edges referring to Quilting Basics.
