Natalie was almost finished with Rita’s training session, but it was hard to focus. It was Monday and Nat still hadn’t moved out of Stone’s house even though her door was repaired and her house was safe to go back to.

Instead, Stone had insisted she stay with him and they could carpool into Charleston together. Natalie hadn’t put up a fight. She had just curled back up into his strong arms and nuzzled closer to his chest. She didn’t want to go home. She loved this time with Stone. She loved the way he made her laugh. She loved the way he made her feel treasured and so special. She loved . . . Stone.

“Was my footwork that good?” Rita asked with a laugh.

Nat realized she was standing there, staring at Rita’s feet with a goofy grin on her face. “Your footwork is improving. Next week we’ll get a little fancy and try some new moves to see how you do.”

Natalie put her cool, professional self back in place. She liked Rita, but Natalie wasn’t going to tell someone else she loved Stone before she could tell him. Or should she not tell him? Stone was pretty notorious for not being serious with women. Would the L word send him running for the hills?

“I’ll see you Thursday. Thanks for everything, Natalie.” Rita gave her a little hug and then headed out the door, leaving Natalie standing in the middle of the room alone. Her mind was still spinning when Cassidy strode in.

Gone was the sweet and happy-go-lucky Cassidy. In her place was a pissed-off and slightly terrifying Cassidy. Her eyes were narrowed, her lips were pursed, and she strode quickly into the room with an open bottle of water.

“I’m here for my workout . . . eeek!” Cassidy pitched forward, her water splashing Natalie as Cassidy fell into her.

The cold water soaking her brought Natalie’s mind snapping back to the present. “What the hell?” she sputtered.

Rita popped back in, looking worried. “I heard a scream. Is everything okay?”

“I am such a klutz. I tripped and spilled my water all over Miss Novak. Not the best impression to make.” Cassidy gave a sheepish grin as she began using a tissue to try to clean up the dripping water.

Rita’s face looked momentarily pinched. “Do you need help cleaning up?”

“No, I’ll just change and bring in a mop. Thanks though, Rita.”

Natalie waited for Rita to close the door before turning on Cassidy only to find a hand over her mouth.

“I’m so sorry. Let’s go to your office to talk about my training and then you can dry off.”

Cassidy strode from the room and was already in Natalie’s office with the door closed by the time Natalie caught up to her. When Natalie opened the door, Cassidy was slowly scanning the room with a device. She lifted a lamp and plucked something from under it. “Go ahead and change, Miss Novak. We can talk when you’re dry. Again. I’m so sorry.”
