It's been a month and despite the fact that we've gone through every magical book we could get our hands on, we've found nothing.

I rub my eyes wearily. I'm exhausted. It's been a 24/7 endeavor, and nothing's gotten us closer. I can tell you how to heal just about every other magical malady at this point, but there's been nothing about how to reverse the process of vampirism.

The desperation we're feeling grows more and more every day. I'm beginning to think of doing something stupid, like giving into whatever Aiden wants.

The bloodlust has dimmed somewhat, but so has the rest of Beckham. He has barely enough energy to move and spends most of his time in bed, sleeping. His complexion is a terrifying grey color and he wheezes when he breathes.

My dreams plague me lately, more so than ever before. But they aren't giving me answers to all of my questions, they're simply highlight reels of Beckham and me.

My dream of Beckham and I standing under a wedding arch has become more like a nightmare with how much I'm forced to see it over and over again. Beckham's almost as far away from the creature he is in those dreams as you can get. The only step closer would be death.

And he's not that far off from that.

When Beckham's body starts rejecting the blood I'm officially done.

"I have to talk to Aiden," I tell Mason and Damon after we've finished up cleaning the latest round of bloody throw up and left Beckham in his room to sleep.

"Over my dead body," Damon says, definitely stalking towards me.

"Oh, do you mean over Beckham's dead body?" I all but screech.

Mason stands up and holds out his hands in between Damon and I, acting like the intermediary like he has to often these days. Damon's torn between protecting me at all costs and keeping Beckham alive.

For me personally I don't think it should be a hard choice.

Beckham dying isn't something I'm willing to allow to happen.

"Looking for me?" Aiden says humorously from behind us.

Mason looks up, a tic appearing in his cheek as he tries to hold himself back from attacking Aiden.

Despite Mason and Damon's murderous looks, Aiden doesn't have eyes for anyone else but me. He's dressed in an all-black suit, fiddling with a red rose. The psychopath is pricking himself over and over again on one of the rose's thorns. The pain must get him off.

Sick bastard.

"What will it be, Eva?" he asks. His voice is calm but that gleam in his eye is still present. The one that tells me that he's desperate for me to agree. That I'm falling right into his hands by doing this.

But what other option do I have? I may not have found anything in the books about how to reverse vampirism, but I've read plenty about what happens when a vampire's body turns on itself and eventually dies. And that's exactly what's happening now with Beckham.

"You need to make clearer what exactly I'll have to do in return for this information," I tell him, trying to keep the desperation out of my voice.
