Meadow Clocks

These stylized clocks have an air of fantasy. I used collage motifs to build a base and then painted on top. I added grasses behind, positioning them from a mouse-eye view to add to the storyline.

Fields of Clocks

22 × 22cm (8½ × 8½ in)

I divided this painting into sections to create a pattern suggestive of fields. I did not attempt to suggest distance and the clocks are a collection of two-dimensional motifs. The idea was to make a decorative design based on actual observations that have been distilled into almost symbolic forms.
