Readers Theater (also spelled Reader’s Theater and Readers’ Theater) is an adaptation of the theatrical practice of actors reading a script without scenery. In the school version, each child reads the part of a different character in a story, with minimal or no props.

Readers Theater may be used at all levels of reading proficiency. Below is a description of how it can be used with beginning readers.
