So, are you ready for the big goal? Make this next goal so huge that when you get it, you’ll know that this is the best book you ever read! Simply make the timeline a little longer, so that your unconscious mind can harness the power you’re sending out. Dare yourself to stretch.

The Random Factor

Let’s make it more interesting by consciously planting suggestions into your future and letting your unconscious mind decide what it wants you to notice. In your day planner, quickly choose four or five days in the next month. Simply mark them. Then on the days you’ve chosen, write at the top something such as: “Great day!” or “Wow day!” or “Happy day!” “This is the day I get great news! A happy letter, phone call, or message today.”

Make up some phrases that really get you upbeat. Once a day for the whole month, flick through and read the comments, and truly wonder what’s going to happen. Sometimes, in the beginning stages of doing this, you’ll get the answer a day later, but the more you practice, the more clarity and accuracy you’ll have in your manifestations.

Visualization: The Power of Your Mind

The power of thought is amazing. A number of years ago, I really needed to sell a house that I’d renovated with my ex-boyfriend. The money we didn’t have was mounting, along with low-energy feelings. The house, a beautiful Victorian barn with a cathedral gallery, stained glass windows, crown molding, and endless detail, had been on the market since October with hardly any interest. It was now February (in cold, wet, rainy England). I sat down one day and decided to come up with a “sell by” date. It was the last possible date that I would want to be out of the house. I created a picture in my mind of a letter saying “Congratulations! You have sold ‘The Stables’ for more than the asking price.” The date at the top of the letter was Sunday, May 22.

March came and went. Easter came with still no luck. We changed realtors, and every time I saw the “For Sale” sign I visualized my little scenario with the letter and imagined SOLD written across the notice board.

A stream of people came through the house, but no takers. Finally, one weekend in May a flurry of visitors arrived. One man walked in, shook my hand, and said, “I’ll offer you the full asking price—I love it. I’m going straight to the real estate office to sign the deal.” I was thrilled. “Quick, what date is it?” I asked my ex-boyfriend. “May twenty-first,” he answered. “Hey, quite good!” I said. “A day early!”

The next day, first thing, another man arrived to say that he also loved the house. “Someone has already offered us the full price,” I told him.

“I’ll give you more than the asking price,” he said, “and I want to move in by the first of June,” only nine days away. It was the twenty-second of May! By the way, the original offer from the other man didn’t happen.
