"Do I Eat This?” Food Lists

COMBINED FOOD LISTS: taken from several sources, ranked in order in their category. Almost all fruits are alkalinizing. It is usually the protein content that causes foods to be acidifying. The higher the protein, the higher the acidity.

You cannot go wrong choosing from any of these lists.

The next two pages include food listings with three sections in six columns. These lists provide answers to the questions raised on the previous page about what foods are the most nutrient dense, alkalinizing and anti-inflammatory. Some fruits and vegetables are on all three lists. Both the Nutrient Density list and the Alkalinizing list are organized in descending order from the most potent to the least potent. But the Anti-inflammatory list is alphabetical. Foods in bold on the Anti-inflammatory list are overlapping foods that occur near the top on one or the other of the other two lists. Berries are probably the most anti-inflammatory of all fruits and vegetables. The nutrient density, the alkalinizing effect and the anti-inflammatory effects of foods vary, and these lists are by no means complete, but my desire was to get people started with information they can trust. Specific meats and dairy are not listed since I am suggesting we limit their quantity. Specifying “9 F+V” poses a challenge to folks, so I hope you can find new foods to try.
