Otulpians, the Commisioners of the Universe

Otulpians were debating the good news and the bad news. The news came from planet Earth.

The good news was that the Earthlets had discovered the beauty of art, music, dance, nature and literature. The bad news was that once again they had screwed up.

What was to be done? Well first there had to be a debate.

The Sramsians, Sunevians and Otulpians just loved to talk and reminisce. They much preferred it to action as much of what they did could be seen as mischievous interference and got them into trouble with the Creator.

So Otulpians often had to sweep up after the Sramsians and Sunevians.

As always they started and ended at the beginning.

So they began.

“Just when we think there’s hope for them they go and muck it up.”

“Just when they find out that eight notes can make an endless number of beautiful songs, one lot enjoy them and another lot don’t.”

“Just when they realise that they don’t have to copy nature but can also use their imagination one lot appreciate it the other lot don’t.”

“Just when they discover the power of books one lot love some of them and the other lot want to ban them.”

“Ai yai yai, they’re impossible!”

“What’s the problem with disagreement? Can be healthy!”
