NECK

Rnd 1: Starting at the back of the neck opening, (sl st, ch 1, sc 1) to rejoin the white yarn (counts as first sc st). Cont in white, sc 2; in dark grey, sc 18; in white, sc 3, working evenly in a clockwise direction around the entire edge of the neck opening. (24 sts)

Rnd 2: Sc 4; in dark grey, sc 16; in white, sc 4. (24 sts)

Rnd 3: Sc 4, sc2tog; in black, sc 4, sc2tog 2 times, sc 4; in white, sc2tog, sc 4. (20 sts)

Rnd 4: Sc 4; in dark grey, sc 12; in white, sc 4. (20 sts)

Rnd 5: Sc2tog; in dark grey, sc 16; in white, sc2tog. (18 sts)

Rnd 6–7: Sc 18.

Rnd 8: (Sc 7, sc2tog) 2 times. (16 sts)

Rnd 9: Sc 16. Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Stuff the body and neck. Starting at the back of the head and using the mattress stitch, sew the open edge of the neck to the back, lower sides, and bottom of the head behind the chin. If you have marking or straight pins, use them to help position the head before you sew.
